Bob is a native North Carolinian, born and raised in the small town of Norlina (it now has a stoplight!!) After obtaining his Accounting Degree from NC State University, his professional career started in Henderson, NC in 1980 with the firm of George W. Holden, CPA, P.A., Later to become Holden, Moss, Knott, Clark and Taylor, CPA. P.A.  Bob joined Potter and Company, CPA, P.A. as Partner in 2003 to assist at that time in the opening and growth of the Firm’s Mooresville, NC  office. 

In his 40+ years professional career, Bob has been very active in both the CPA Profession and his community.  He is a former Chairman of the NCACPA and served two terms on the Board of Directors.  Additionally, he served on the Peer Review Committee of the NCACPA for 35 years and is a former Chairman.  He also was appointed to a 5-year term of the AICPA as a member of Council. Most recently he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the AICPA Benevolent Fund, serving as President for 3 years.  Bob has also had the privilege of service with the Lions’ Club of Henderson for over 20 years and since 2003 as a member of the Top of Lake Mooresville Rotary, along with many other civic related opportunities.  He is a member of Davidson United Methodist Church and grateful to participate in it’s awesome Chancel Choir.

Bob and his wife Donna, a CPA, and former Partner in the Potter Firm, make their home in Davidson, NC  Their daughter, Rebekah (also an NC State Accounting grad) lives in Raleigh.  They are all proud Wolfpack supporters!!  He loves his family and friends and is anxious to indulge every opportunity with them to enjoy golf, hiking, fitness, great food and drink!!
